This project involved working with the QUT SEF to produce a corporate gift for SEF professionals. I conducted interviews with research scientists from UQ to gain insights into the needs of people in this industry. I established a need for a contact sharing device. I explored technologies such as QR Codes and NFC tags to share contact information and projects.

Valuable research was conducted with SEF industry professionals at The University of Queensland who explained their experiences with corporate gifts and their needs and activities as a SEF professional.

The lightweight aluminum design is compact and sleek. The acrylic cover allows the ID card to be clearly visible to security. The clip on the back is able to be attached to a lanyard, handbag, top pants, or skirt. This inclusive design allows the product to be used by all SEF professionals.

MANUFACTURE

To prototyping the form and function of the product I used 3D printing to yield a high fidelity product. During the 3D printing process, I was able to learn more about the capabilities of 3D printing and experimenting with different 3D printing materials to produce different qualities and material surfaces. As demonstrated in the Images to the right the clip on the back is fully functional.
